From ‘the forest’ team...
It’s May and the explosion of spring growth is upon us. Enjoying your gardens and the beautiful Charnwood countryside as we’re sure you are we hope you find time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors this coming month. With this in mind we have news about two village ‘Open Garden Weekends’ as well as of course, our regular gardening article.
This month also features, for the first time, an article about orienteering with Leicester’s Orienteering Club running several events in our area, read about them, along with their other local going’s-on.
Also, with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations gathering pace, we have news of several Jubilee inspired events. In addition, and as usual, you’ll find details of many other interesting events in the ‘Forest Diaries’ including Melton Mowbray’s Cheese Fair or if that doesn’t take your fancy, how about some ‘Country Capers’ at Donington le Heath Manor House – the choice is yours!
For success stories look no further than our article about Stauton Harold Sailing Club’s much deserved award of £50,000 courtesy of Sport England and their Inspired Facilities fund. Creating a legacy for years to come find out how they did it and how you could benefit.
For our feature this month we shine a spotlight on Coalville. An important town in the Charnwood Forest, Coalville is well worth a visit - as well as the many great businesses in residence – there’s the suitably interesting Snibston Discovery Park and the beautiful Donnington-le-Heath Manor House all on the doorstep.
Have a great May,
...Ed, Nena & Sue
